The Wind Symphony, conducted by Dr. Richard Fischer, is an ensemble of approximately 60 performers who are selected by audition. Literature is drawn from the finest traditional and contemporary repertoire. The Wind Symphony has performed in 41 states and Canada. In 2005, the ensemble performed in six cities in China, including Shanghai and Bejing. In 2001, it toured Germany, the Czeck Republic, Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia. The group has played at numerous conferences, including the 2004 National Conference of the College Band Directors National Association. (CBDNA). The Wind Symphony has commissioned and premiered numerous major wind compositions and has recorded nine nationally acclaimed compact discs of sacred wind repertoire.
