The title of this work refers to King David of ancient Israel who, upon the return of the Ark of the Covenant to Jerusalem "danced before the Lord with all his might" (II Samuel 6:14). The audience-friendly accompaniment track features a driving rhythm, pantonal harmonies, with a blend of orchestral and electronic sounds. The piece is challenging to the performer and accessible to the audience. Tubists who have performed the work report very positive audience reaction. To date, it has been performed on four continents.

This piece has been recorded by Mark Nelson and by Dale Warren.   [more info on CDs]
