...and they gathered on Mount Carmel
A surround-sound composition for wind orchestra (band) in three movements. Its title refers to the great confrontation between the Old Testament prophet Elijah and the false prophets of Baal recorded in I Kings 18. The brass is split into two antiphonal choirs on either side of the audience, with yet more musicians stationed behind the audience.

Dance of the Mountain Raindrops
The title refers to a gentle, warm, summer rain falling over the lush vegetation of the Great Smoky Mountains, an area in which the composer has spent many hours and hiked many miles. Raindrops seem to dance as they splash off moss covered logs and drip from the leaves of dense rhododendron. Stylistically, the piece traverses several styles, including minimalism, traditional writing, and jazz.
